Melbourne Considered Tourism Gem

Saturday, October 23, 2010
A survey has found Melbourne is considered the best Australian city for sporting and cultural events.
Guess which Australian city a survey commissioned by the Victorian government has determined the most popular domestic tourist destination?
The Roy Morgan 2010 Brand Health Survey of between 1200 and 1400 people across the country has found Melbourne is considered the best Australian city for sporting and cultural events, food, bars and shopping.
The survey was commissioned by Tourism Victoria.
Premier John Brumby and Tourism Minister Tim Holding visited Puffing Billy in Melbourne's outer east to promote the research on Saturday.
'Ten years ago Sydney was Australia's leading city but things are very different today - Melbourne now leads Sydney on all major indicators in the survey,' Mr Brumby said.
Mr Holding said tourism was worth close to $16 billion to Victoria's economy.
In the year to June, Melbourne had 708,000 more interstate overnight visitors than Sydney, he said.

What a great idea and it is easy to see the future with more staff able to work at home or overseas.
Thank you Uli for keeping your special work going athough we did miss your happy face.

Friday 20th July 2010

I have returned from spending two great years traveling around Australia.
What a great country !
On my return I requested the team who have the website www.gippslandinfo.com.au to extend their site from Gippsland and Victoria to the whole of Australia.
A big task but with my help, accommodation for the major areas in Australia have been completed with a new search engine created by Bryan and his team used with no booking fee attached.
The new search over Australia has a system showing availability for the dates required.
A saving of time and giving immediate answers rather than wait up to 24 hours.
This system will also extended to Victoria as operators convert

After using this new search we also decided to update our original search for Gippsland and Victoria.
Operators who keep availability up to date are showing at the top marked as BE.

Enjoy the changes on the site and any comments please email.

admin@gippslandinfo.com.au who will also let me know what you think.
