Western Australia

Western Australia is true frontier country.

It's huge, often hostile expanses of empty desert dwarf the sporadic clusters of population around the coast and fertile south - west.
Australia's largest state - roughly the size of western Europe - occupies one third of the continent, yet most of it's 1.25 million population live in the capital city Perth. With it's blue skies, sunny weather and beautiful Ocean beaches, Perth is held to be the luckiest of all Australian citys.

In contrast to the capital, vast stretches of Western Australia are hot, barren and unpopulated. It's landscape is, nonetheless, full of senic surprises: weird rock formations, giant eucalypt forest, windswept coastlines and carpets of brilliantly coloured wildflowers.
