Lakes Entrance

Kingfish are biting at the Myer Street footbridge and the floating jetty. Salmon and tailor are being caught at Eastern Beach on pilchards and poppers, also try spinning with metal lures. Offshore at Six Mile Reef good sized snapper around 8kg are being landed. Flathead are out deeper, there are also swordfish and plenty of shark around.

Lake Tyers

The best spot for bream is in the upper reaches of Nowa Nowa Arm, taking local prawn. Flathead are also about, with best results using prawn and soft plastics. Give the surf beach a try for salmon and tailor, on pilchards and poppers.

 Mitchell River

Bream can be found upstream around the Wy Yung bridge, with most success on local prawn, soft plastics and lures. Perch are taking hard body lures at the highway bridge.

Tambo River

The best spot for bream is at the river mouth, on drifting prawn and soft plastics.

 Nicholson

With current weather conditions, bream are biting at the river mouth on drifting baits such as prawn or plastics.

Metung

Bream are being caught off the town jetties, taking local prawn and soft plastics. Whiting can be found around Shaving Point on small pieces of squid leg, mussels and pipis.

Paynesville

Whiting are about at the back of Raymond Island on mussels and pipis, and also at Progress Jetty, biting on worm, mussel and small pieces of squid legs.

Hollands Landing

Try Griffin’s Point and into Lake Victoria for bream, and the Southern side of the lake for flathead, with best results on white bait, prawn and cut pilchard. There is a chance of landing bream and mullet as well.

Marlo

Luderick are being caught at the Rock Groynes, and there are still plenty of salmon and tailor in the channel or surf beaches.

Bemm River

The water levels are rising in the lake, and bream can still be caught using local prawn, vibes and soft plastics.

Tamboon Inlet

Bream are biting at the river mouth and up to Furnell Landing, with the best baits being prawn, cut crab and shrimp. Try the football ground for pinkies and trevally on pilchards. Salmon and tailor are chasing lures in the lake.

Mallacoota

The top and bottom lakes are good for bream and flathead. Pinkies are also around, taking prawn and soft plastics.

Omeo High Country

 Mitta Mitta is possibly the best river for trout, biting on earth worm and lures.
